From giving back to the youth through community events such as his annual back pack drive to collaborating and networking with artists in the city to bring not only great events but, attention to his music and the music of other hot artists. We had the opportunity to sit down with Flam and true to his image, he is very connected to where he came from and he tells his story well.

TrigNO is another artist with great lyrical imagery. You can almost place yourself in each setting being depicted or sometimes you may create your own setting in your mind as you grab onto the boom bap, the melodic choruses, the rhythm.

I’ve always volunteered growing up and although I didn’t have it the best, I had the opportunity to see my privilege. My grandma fostered all my aunts and uncles outside of my mother, so I always saw service. Mom’s a social worker and then there’s me!

Always remember that you are the baddest. In saying this, I just want everybody to know that nobody’s work is better than the other. I don’t like comparing myself to people because everybody has a different vision, everybody considers art very different. I just feel like as creatives you have to understand that not everybody is going to understand your art. Your art is not something for everybody to like therefore, you don’t need everybody’s approval and the little support that you do get, appreciate it because it goes a long way.

My life’s ambition is simple. I want to change lives. I want to be the light that a lot of young African American boys and girls need to see in order to believe in their own dreams.
